PRESS RELEASE – Gail Symons Announces Candidacy for Wyoming House District 30

Gail Symons for Wyoming House District 30

SHERIDAN,  May 21, 2024 —

Gail Symons announced today she is seeking the Republican nomination for Wyoming House District 30 in the August 20, 2024 Primary Election.

“The advantages I gained from being raised and educated in Wyoming resulted in success as a US Navy Officer and at General Electric.” Symons said, “The values of hard work, freedom, community and personal responsibility have positively benefited every aspect of my life.”

Symons is running to preserve those bedrock Wyoming values and address the Wyoming challenges and opportunities facing residents, businesses, organizations, and government entities.  She is committed to working with citizens to identify where action is needed and then collaborating with other legislators to develop and implement practical, impactful solutions.

“My mother always said that government is how the community manages itself.  My father used neighbor as a verb.  I believe good government encompasses both and that the most effective, responsible government occurs at the lowest feasible level with the least control over the individual,” Symons stated.

Symons publishes Civics307.com, a nonpartisan blog on the Wyoming Legislature, as well as WYvote.vote, a nonpartisan clearinghouse to support informed voting.  She is a member of the Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce, a Chamber Ambassador and serves as secretary of the Government Affairs Committee.

Symons is Treasurer of the Rotary Club of Sheridan, President of the Sheridan County Cattlewomen, Vice-President of the Sheridan 4-H Mountain Camp and belongs to the American Association of University Women (AAUW).  She is the Republican Precinct 16-1 Committeewoman for Sheridan County.

In addition to being a member of the Wyoming Capitol Club, Symons belongs to the Wyoming Business Alliance and the Wyoming Taxpayers Association.

Symons lives in Wyarno, adjacent to the Symons Ranch.  She holds a BS in Marketing from the University of Wyoming and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Hawaii, Manoa.
