I am a retired US Navy officer, 50 year registered Sheridan Republican and community leader. I am a traditional Conservative, believe in Republican Principles that government closest to the people is the most effective and adhere to the code of the West.

I am so grateful for all the support for my campaign from the encouragement to the volunteers.

I called Tom Kelly this morning to congratulate him on his win and thank him for a very clean race between the two of us. It is my feeling that the malicious attack mailers may have increased the difference in votes we received but they did not change the final outcome. I also offered to help in any way as he prepares for the legislature and once he takes office. I believe he is enough of a libertarian to resist the authoritarian tendencies of the Freedom Caucus.

My time and energy will return to Civics307 and WY Vote. It is clear that better understanding of the legislative processes will help the electorate and counter the propaganda that is rampant. In addition to the Bill Tracker I maintain on Civics307, I will expand the blog posts to provide pro and con summaries on the most impactful bills. Oftentimes, a bill that has a worthwhile intention can be so poorly written that it needs to be defeated and brought back the following year in a cleaner version. The same is true for those bills that are problematic against the state constitution.

I also now have the bandwidth to have WY Vote include candidate profiles for the 2024 General Election. These will be particularly useful to voters looking at Municipal, school board and college board races. I do not know if the unusually turnout across the state for the Primary was apathy or if the overwhelming negativity had people stay home. Providing training to organizations and businesses on civics, elections and the impact of participation is another area that needs to be expanded.

And of course my commitment to the community through the Rotary, the Chamber of Commerce and various other boards and organizations will continue. I am so proud of the generosity and service that the people of the County provide.

Again, my heartfelt thanks to all.

This is decision day for the voters in House District 30 and across the state. That result will determine in what role I continue my commitment to Sheridan County and the State of Wyoming. Today will not alter that commitment, just what form it will take.

What a ride this campaign season has been. The high point has been the doorway conversations on the concerns for the state. The low point has been the malicious attack mailers. Thankfully, the former outnumbered the latter by 2500%. It has been the encouragement and support from friends and even strangers that have sustained me.

My heartfelt thanks to all who have helped me along the way.
