I am a retired US Navy officer, 50 year registered Sheridan Republican and community leader. I am a traditional Conservative, believe in Republican Principles that government closest to the people is the most effective and adhere to the code of the West.
I am so grateful for all the support for my campaign from the encouragement to the volunteers.
I called Tom Kelly this morning to congratulate him on his win and thank him for a very clean race between the two of us. It is my feeling that the malicious attack mailers may have increased the difference in votes we received but they did not change the final outcome. I also offered to help in any way as he prepares for the legislature and once he takes office. I believe he is enough of a libertarian to resist the authoritarian tendencies of the Freedom Caucus.
My time and energy will return to Civics307 and WY Vote. It is clear that better understanding of the legislative processes will help the electorate and counter the propaganda that is rampant. In addition to the Bill Tracker I maintain on Civics307, I will expand the blog posts to provide pro and con summaries on the most impactful bills. Oftentimes, a bill that has a worthwhile intention can be so poorly written that it needs to be defeated and brought back the following year in a cleaner version. The same is true for those bills that are problematic against the state constitution.
I also now have the bandwidth to have WY Vote include candidate profiles for the 2024 General Election. These will be particularly useful to voters looking at Municipal, school board and college board races. I do not know if the unusually turnout across the state for the Primary was apathy or if the overwhelming negativity had people stay home. Providing training to organizations and businesses on civics, elections and the impact of participation is another area that needs to be expanded.
And of course my commitment to the community through the Rotary, the Chamber of Commerce and various other boards and organizations will continue. I am so proud of the generosity and service that the people of the County provide.
Again, my heartfelt thanks to all.

You are a class act and it is Wyoming's loss to not have you seated in Legislature. Thank you for all you do to make the Cowboy State a better place to live!
Congratulations on a race well run, Gail! Your service is always appreciated. A class act!
Thank you for all your hard work Gail, almost a thousand of us were rooting for you!
This is decision day for the voters in House District 30 and across the state. That result will determine in what role I continue my commitment to Sheridan County and the State of Wyoming. Today will not alter that commitment, just what form it will take.
What a ride this campaign season has been. The high point has been the doorway conversations on the concerns for the state. The low point has been the malicious attack mailers. Thankfully, the former outnumbered the latter by 2500%. It has been the encouragement and support from friends and even strangers that have sustained me.
My heartfelt thanks to all who have helped me along the way.

I’m so sorry for your loss… you are the kind of smart, thinking people we need. What a mess….
Good luck Gail!
Good luck young lady! No one can question your commitment to the betterment of Sheridan and the State. Good luck today!
This is quite a lengthy article and well worth the read. It lays out very clearly what is at stake in tomorrow’s election. I wish they had published this two weeks ago or even one. The state is truly at a crossroads and Primary Election turnout is notoriously low.
It is not just the callous disregard for our neighbors, communities, children, veterans, wildlife and public lands, it is the lack of integrity in their conduct in committee and in the Chambers. Apparently they believe their Ends justify the Means. It is particularly sad to see in the many of their aligned legislators who are fundamentally good people influenced to give unswerving support.
Another attack mailer from the Freedom Caucus/PAC arrived in mailboxes on Saturday. They apparently decided that Liz Cheney is stilll living rent free in Republican voters heads. Note to the Freedom Caucus: she is no longer in Congress and has no relevance to the State or the Wyoming Legislature.
It is up to those who show up tomorrow at the polls to decide. Consider carefully and vote accordingly. What is the Wyoming you want.
